Now Running AVG Free 2016 Zen Enabled but High CPU Usage

Hello Geoff,
We regret the inconvenience caused. We suggest you to uninstall your AVG program once using 'AVG Remover Tool'( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ) to check if the high CPU usage issue has been fixed and let us know. I would also suggest you to 'repair' your OS once to install all the missing 'windows' updates. Thank you.

Hello Geoff,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Deleting the temporary files shouldn't cause any issue for your computer.
This is the first time we are hearing this kind of issue.
Have you setup the restore point for your PC? If yes did you try restoring your PC? Does it work or it got failed?

As I understand it, in order to "Repair" the OS, I would need an Installation disk, which I don't have.
The PC Was built for me by the IT Manager of the school where I used to teach, so there is no device manufacturer that I can contact.
As for contacting Microsoft, I think I'd have more chance of contacting my wife, …she passed away in 2013

What do you mean by the statement "Repair" your OS?

Geoff, Quote "Or are you just bringing the history which led me to this point, to the attention of anyone offering help?"… Correct.
