Please let us know what happens when you install the graphics driver. If you receive any error, provide us the screenshot of the same.
To check if AVG is causing blocking the installation, disable AVG Internet Security and check with the graphics driver installation.

Could there be a correlation between my inability to install the latest Nvidia graphics driver and my AVG settings?  Got new GPU and would like to unleash it, but can't get the darn graphics driver to install.
