Hi,
we are not tackling the main issue here,
anyhow, here are the actions am taking,
1- i have resolved the issue, by modifing the registry,
2- cleaned the backup history in AVG,
to identify change action by AVG
and waiting for issue to happen again, to let you know
but this is not the ultimate resolution to the issue,
AVG should modify the registery only if you are sure excel will keep running smoothly
Hi,
as am using 64bit OS, and 64bit office
the file location is
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
and the box Run this program in compatibility mode’ is already unchecked,
thus no change I did, and issue still persistence
Hi,
this is maybe my 5th time, facing the same issue,
and communicating it with AVG support,
yet they couldn't resolve it, definetly,
if i try to open excel file, i get an error message as "there was a problem sending the command to the program"
which i need to close, then click on the file again to open
yet if i open excel directly, it opens fine
if excel already opened, i can open other files ok, without the error message,
if i search the processes, i could find
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp\TUAutoReactivator64.exe" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE" /dde
if i run this line through the command line,
all works file
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE" /dde "C:\Data2\OneDrive\SMS\amex.xlsx"
the only diffrence, is excluding the tune-up call
dear,
its clearly AVG is the one call Excel to open the file, and this is because of it
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp\TUAutoReactivator64.exe" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE" /dde
so its AVG tune up, who created it,
and the one calling excel to start
Hello Fahad. Sorry to hear that. I have sent you an email in order to get our additional support to resolve this issue. Thank you.
