Old laptop has died! How do I transfer subscription to new one?

I bought AVG Performance and Protection a few months ago and installed it on my old laptop which has now given up the ghost and can't be used.
How do I get AVG onto my new laptop - I've tried to find out but it keeps telling me to either (1) buy a new sub (2) get the free version or (3) go to my old laptop and 'invite' a new device - none of these are what I want.
Really don't know why this is proving so difficult. I have logged on but still can't find out how to do this seemingly simple task :frowning:
