Opening the program

In spite of previous efforts by the Support Team, AVGsecureVPN will not open automatically when I switch on PC. The following message appears on screen :-
"VPN ran into a technical problem
OFF
Sorry, AVGsecureVPN is not responding.
RESTART SERVICE"

Then it comes ON.
Is this likely to be a problem with my PC -a Toshiba laptop, 10 years old, running Windows10 and I have Google Chrome as default browser?

Any ideas?
