Yes, sure please check the size of the MPG files. To check this further, please check to disable the File shield and the Behavior shield individually.
To know about disabling the shields refer the link | AVG

After disabling the above-mentioned shields, do initiate a deep scan and then check the VLC player. Please check and share your observations of the deep scan in relation to the VLC player.

Other programs freeze (i.e. VLC) when AVG is doing deep scan, mainly when scanning MPG files (not all MPG files, I will try to check the size of the MPG files to see if they are very large or not).  VLC freezes and the CPU is around 2 or 3% if that, the RAM stays the same. Looking at Task Manager, nothing goes over 1 or 2%.  I have tried to increase settings in VLC player to improve its performance but nothing seems to work.  What else could I do to help AVG work better when doing deep scan and still play a file while pc is doing its thing. ?

Hi, Is this just to test something, or is this the fix to stop VLC Player from freezing ?
