Hi Al,

Let us confirm whether the issue is due to AVG Antivirus free.
Open AVG antivirus free interface.
Click on "Menu–>Settings–>Troubleshooting–>Passive Mode".
Use On/Off slider to turn off the protection temporarily.
Keep us informed about the status.

I installed and unistalled twice and put it in passive mode.  In passive mode outlook works fine.  When the program is installed and turned on outlook does not work.  I tried changing the redirct settings to match my outlook settings but that didn't work either.

I installed AVG free version and my outlook will not send or receive email now.
