Outlook crashes at startup

Outlook most times crashes at start up. Can be overcome by starting Outlook in safe-mode and then start up Outlook again but it sometimes crashes anyway.
I have run the Microsoft OFFCat analyser and it says that there is a problem caused by 3rd party software AVG.
Does anyone have a solution.
