Outlook Send email no longer works after installing AVG

Hi there I installed AVG internet Security on the weekend and as soon as I did I can no longer send emails in Outlook on my HP Laptop.  I have tried this link and my STMP settings are already set to the ports suggested.  Can anyone else give an alternative solution?
