We apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced. This password protection component disable issue was reported as a bug earlier and we resolved it immediately.
The solution is to reinstall the AVG Internet Security program using clear tool (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Uninstall-AVG-software-Clear-Remover). We also collected logs from most of the users who contacted us regarding this issue. This is to ensure that this issue does not occur in future.
Every time I log on to my computer password protect is switched off.

I am also having the same problem and it never showed up until I accidentally found it, so today I forgot as was lloking for a long time for internet info – now am wondering if I have a hacker. I have the Ultimate protection, and do not want to uninstall and reinstall on my own - so may I get a tech to do this for me, as I'm told that comes with this plan.

Also, can AVG not fix it with the daily upgrading? It should not be up to the customers to do the update.
