Password Protection keeps turning off

Hello Samuel. Thank you very much for taking the time to communicate with AVG. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

Specific to your first referenced concern, Password Protection is Turning Off, is a recent widely reported disruption, that our development team is actively investigating.

As a temporary work around solution, until our development team is able to determine the cause of this disruption, simply uninstalling and reinstalling AVG Internet Security, will resolve the disruption. To follow are uninstall and reinstall instructions:

- Uninstall using AVG Clear - How to use the AVG Uninstall Tool | AVG
- Install AVG Internet Security - How to install AVG Internet Security | AVG

Upon reinstall of AVG Internet Security, it will be necessary to activate your product subscription.

Hello,

I have found another thread(s) regarding this but the general answer was always to start a new thread through my own account in order to get help. So, here we go…

First, the password protection keeps turning off. I have to manually turn it back on with every start of the computer.

Second, the System protection under AntiTrack is also turning off the feature "Keep what I do on my computer private".

I'd like to say that I have paid for the AVG Ultimate this January when I switched from Malwarebytes. So far, I am not a very happy customer. I have couple active licences and this problem persists on all of them, which is a pain in a** since I have to instruct my family and friends over and over. Not to mention that the AVG doesn't let me know that it is actually turned off.

For a very pricey product such as this, I am very much disappointed in the poor performance so far. I am even more disappointed to see multiple threads about a problem that has not been fixed yet at all and has been going on for months!

I would very much appreciate a fix of these issues WITHOUT you digging through my computer (in this case, several computers) because, apparently, I am not the only person having this issue. Fix your shi*!!! Please.

Thank you.

Samuel

Specific to your second referenced concern, AVG AntiTrack if turning off feature, "keep what I do on my computer private," is too a recent reported disruption. However in this case, our development team has since determined the cause of this disruption, which is is being changed externally, outside AVG AntiTrack, at the registry level. Long story short, our development team has rectified the disruption, which will be released in the next product update in the foreseeable future.

Thank you for being understanding and I trust this explanation and information help clarify your concern. Regards, Shawn
