It was a bug and our developers have fixed it by releasing an update (21.2)
Kindly update the application in : AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> Update
After updating restart the PC and check if the issue has been fixed or not.

I have been notified by Lifelock that some of my passwords have been compromised and have been used. I checked by AVG dashboard and password protection must be manually turned on each time I start my computers. Why is this particular function shutting down and not automatically restarting? I no longer feel that your software is protecting me.
