I understand your concern.
If you have an AVG Unlimited Devices program installed and activated on your PC then the password protection purchased on same account will get activated automatically.
The reason is because the activation is done only through AVG my account credentials.
If you have an icon as "AVG Password Protection" on your desktop screen, double click on it and check whether it shows the password protection window and "buy now" option shouldn't appear, if it was activated.
