Password reset not applying to app

May I confirm whether you are referring to your AVG User interface password? 
If yes, then we'd like to clarify that resetting my account password won't help.
You might need to restart your PC in safe mode and run AVG clear to remove the password.

So basically I need to access the settings in AVG but then it asks for my password, which I provide but then it says its wrong, so i've reset my password twice now and it still saying the password is wrong. 

Any ideas as to what I do here?
