PC pop up Fix add

Frank Caldwell, thanks for the instructions for turning off this irritating pop up. However, nowhere in the list is advertisting. Personally, I don't want to be left in the dark about what AVG is doing for (or TO me). I want notifications pertaining to automatic threat removal, etc.

AVG: WAKE UP. YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS ARE FED UP WITH YOUR ADVERTISING POP UPS! THIS APPLIES TO OUR MOBILE DEVICES TOO! ADD TO SYSTEM TRAY NOTIFICATIONS THE ABILITY TO TURN OFF AVG ADVERTISEMENTS. AT LEAST FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS. IF YOU CAN'T FIND WHERE "SYSTEM TRAY NOTIFICATIONS" IS LOCATED, SEE FRANK'S INSTRUCTIONS, ABOVE. OTHERWISE, DO WHAT YOU NORMALLY DO, DENY THERE BEING A PROBLEM AND ASK FOR A SCREEN SHOT.

i also have been getting this popup. there is an avg uitlity that identifies the processes related to such programs. this utility stated that the popup is linked to avg via the process,AVGUI. when i stopped the process, the popup went away. however the process continues to restart since its obviously required to run AVG.

I've had this UNBRANDED box too, and after a brief web search I found the finger of blame pointing squarely at AVG. So here I am, with my first forum post, and am wondering if the simplest way of dealing with this popup is to uninstall AVG and go elsewhere.

I had this popup. There is no "tuneup PC" in add-remove programs nor in TaskManager nor in Process Explorer nor in the registry.
I clicked it, after several clicks a web page opened which i closed and it closed; it's gone for now.

I also started reveiving the pop up this morning. No way to close it, can't find a way to stop it. MAKE it go away!

Someone on a different forum told me to click the popup box.  You might have to do it several times.  When it goes full screen, you see that AVG is trying to sell you more goods.  You can now close the window and it will go away, hopefully for ever.

Also, go to options>advance settings>left pane click appearance>right panel untick display system tray notifications>OK.

I got a wonderful pop up on my home screen about a PC fix and click here for common PC fix solutions.  No X to get rid of it,  did a virus scan… nothing… did a Adaware… nothing.

Then I noticed my AVG program highlighted.  STOP IT, LOOKS LIKE A SCAM, SMELLS LIKE ONE.  LEAVE ME THE H**L ALONE.

So if there is a way for you to REMOVE your damn pop up adds then do so.  Otherwise I will take my business and all the other people I have turned on to AVG and personally pay for them to go somewhere else.

WHY ARE WE BEING TOLD ON OTHER THREADS THAT THIS IS NOT FROM AVG?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

MY BIGGEST PC PROBLEM IS WITH IRRITATING AVG POP UPS AND THE LACK OF A PLAIN LANGUAGE PATH IN SETTINGS TO TURN THEM OFF!

Hello Paul. Glad to hear that you are now appear to be sorted. I am sorry once again for any inconvenience caused to you in this matter. The campaign was rolled out and you should not see the pop up anymore. If you in case receive the pop up again, please move your cursor to the top right corner of the pop up box and click. There is a close button but it is not visible. Then restart your computer. Thank you.

Hello Don M. I apologize for the misunderstanding happened earlier with my answer. There is also a fix performance component offered in AVG anti virus (both paid and free) programs. My answer saying this annoying pop up belongs to AVG is before seeing the screenshot of the pop up. Thanks to Paul Zynosky in this thread for providing the screenshot. As you mentioned, I started sharing the correct solution to this for other customers where you seen me saying it it not from AVG.

I would like to inform you that our recent audits have proven that this pop up is not related to AVG but a program called "tuneup PC". I would request you to check your installed programs and uninstall this application. If you do not see it in the list of installed programs, please do a thorough search in your computer for any files related to this program and remove them. Then restart your computer. Thank you.

The page that opened is "http://www.avg.com/campaign-landing-pages/us-en/driver-updater-offer-lifecycle-a?A=eFUgTD00VUhENC1ZWFFPSC1OMlA0RS1RUlVVNy1ZUExKUS1KIEk9NzctMjQ5NjA5MzQ0NSBMTkc9dXMgVj0yMDE1MDU5NjEgT1NWPTUuMS4yNjAwIE9TPVdYUEhYODYgU1NQPTMuMCBNSUQ9MGJlODZmZDRhMmFiNDdkMmJjZDJkMTRlYWY2MWZiNTItYzNiYjg3YzMwZmU3MjcxMzIyYTEwMzhlODRlNTY4ZDY4M2IyNGMwZSBCRT0yMTE5OTAxMCBBST0wIFBSVFlQRT05MCBMVD0xIFVJRD0gQUlEPSBBQ0NJRD0wIFNJRD1kZWZfdXBnMTVpc3RyaWFsdjEx&uiid=38-2015Q3-DU%20OTAP"

Is it yours? I asume not because no https.

I have the free version of AVG and as the screen shot I posted above shows the pop-up is parked in the lower left of my screen. Nothing I have tried, settings, trying to remove"tuneup PC" (no such file on my computer) has been successful. I googled "PC tuneup removal AVG" and found the following;
| AVG (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en_US&urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG-PC-TuneUp)

There is a link for a tool to remove AVG PC tuneup! I ran the software on Saturday and the pop-up has not returned since!
