Hi Mark,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused.
Did the PC power modes worked when the TuneUp Utilities 2014 was uninstalled?
Hi Mark. Thanks for writing back.
I think there is a misunderstanding, and I will try to further clarify the disruption/confusion.
To reclarify, the recent backend server update to TuneUp Utilities 2014, which occurred in January 2021, was strictly server related. In other words, there was no change to the product itself, and it is one and the same (before and after the licensing server disruption).
I get it that before the backend server disruption, you didn't experience a disruption using AVG TuneUp Utilities 2014, whereas after the backend repair, you are now experiencing a product feature disruption.
I can only speculate, that there may have been a Windows update that is potentially not compatible with the said feature. Unfortunately, given we no longer support AVG TuneUp 2014, it's not possible to further address or fix this feature disruption.
I am hopeful this further explanation clarifies any confusion. Regards, Shawn
This issue is on 2 Windows 10 Dell laptops, one 32 bit and one 64 bit.
I understand the fact no compatibility updates to support newer operating systems, that's not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for a key feature to be re-enabled in the product!
Power modes worked perfectly on the old version, then I had to reinstall the new version to remove the license "expiry" issue and it's never worked since.
Thanks
I'm still getting the runaround here, Power modes still don't work in the updated version of TuneUp 2014.
I've sent screenshots and the issue is still unresolved.
@Shawn Engleman, absolute legend, using the removal tool rather than simply uninstalling and reinstalling has resolved the issue and power modes are working again.
If anyone else is having this issue I highly recomend following these instructions above.
Thank You!
The power modes are not working since installing the new version of 2014 to resolve the expired license issue, I have reinstalled multiple times following your instructions but I can only work in Standard (Economy and Turbo modes do not work).
I understand the fact that support has ended but you have removed one of the main features I specifically bought the product for.
Anyone else having this issue?
I mentioned this on the licensing thread and AVG agent requested me to create a new post on community so AVG Support can create a ticket and escalate it to our senior team.
Thanks

Hello Mark,
We have sent email to your registered email address. Please attach the screenshot while replying to that email. We look forward for your response.
It goes without saying, your expressed frustration, is not the experience we intended for you to have had, but I have tried to help you as best I can.
Nonetheless, as a basic troubleshoot, I can only further suggest performing a thorough uninstall of the product and to reinstall, to determine if this resolves your experienced feature disruption.
To perform a thorough uninstall, I first suggest uninstalling AVG TuneUp from the Windows Control Panel. Thereafter the uninstall, to download and run our removal utility: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
And upon performing the removal utility, reinstall AVG TuneUp 2014: https://is.gd/CYz7On
Good luck and all the best. Regards, Shawn
Hello Mark,
We are glad to know that the issue has been resolved.
Please let us know if you have any concern with AVG.
Thank you.
Could you share us screenshots supporting your statements?
It will be helpful to check and assist you further.
This, combined with the fact that you termitated the product license which was supposed to be a "lifetime" license which timed out with no notification, means I will never buy an AVG product again.
I'd be happy to attach this but when I click the "image" icon above this text box the browser hangs and I have to click back and log back in.
