I had the same issues with AVG PC tuneup. Locked up the PC. After sign on all I get is a black screen. It has locked up all the resources. This product is crap!
issue AVG PC tuneup. Black Screen. The support cannot advise anything because it is a black screen.The Seagate memory was OK. Fan running but will not boot up. I have two machines, the same, so could check memory. I think something has gone on the motherboard.
Hello. SOmething happened to me but with one difference. THe scanning process at the beginning was completed but since then my screen and some basic funtions like writing using the keyboard is so difficult. Screen and keyboard are not working. ANd my laptop has 1 month since I bought it…

I am sorry to hear that, but please note that it is not issue with AVG, but issue in Microsoft scandisk PC TuneUp just schedule it for you.

I had a similar issue on my desktop running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
I installed AVG PC Tuneup 2014, ran the i-click thing. Then I did some manual tools including the check disks for errors utility. I recieved a message that the PC had to reboot. It then went into disk repair and was stuck at 10% for hours before I gave up. I had to reboot and get into system restore and restore my system to a point before the AVG installation. What a mess.
I wish I had read this before. AVG Tuneup just destroyed my computer. I ran the registry clean and ended up with a blue screen that was basically in a never ending loop. Now I have to try and recover my files somehow. There is a serious issue with AVG tuneup and it should not be marketed.
AVG RUINED MY NEW LAPTOP.
While running the Tune Up to fix the C drive it became STUCK at 10% for OVER 2 days.
NOTHING would allow me access to my pc-not even in safemode to uninstall.
FINALLY I saw a prompt telling me to stop disc check press ANY button within 1 second. i pushed a button, the prompt stayed frozen on the screen for 5 minutes, flickered, then turned black. i re booted-black screen.
is this a problem with AVG tuneup or a problem with Windows 8.1? And if it is a problem with the compatibility who is responsible for this? And why doesn't AVG put a warning on their website warning of what could happen if we install this program? So now all of the people like me who lost their computers it makes no difference if either company puts out some sort of update to prevent this problem in the future because were already screwed blued and tattooed.
customer service AVG was completely a waste of my time because all he told me was because you cannot access your computer/login we don't know what happened. Obviously my explanation isn't good enough. And from what I see on the Internet a lot of people have gone through this problem. The guy on the phone blames windows-windows blamed AVG. I don't give a crap who's to blame I just want to know who is going to fix my damned computer?

That happened to me except it was stuck at 11%. Mine wasonly stuck for 5 hours. i thought avg killed my laptop
