PC TuneUp runs disc scan at every boot-up

Okay, interesting development. The problem I have been having is that when I boot up in the morning. I wait for the appearance of the "lock" screen, unlock with the password so the windows stuff can open, then I typically leave because the start-up times are long (something I hoped TuneUp would address but not much difference). When I return, Windows is open and a TuneUp window has opened, displaying what I think is "DiscDoctor" showing scans competed. In the process of trying to document this and provide the requested images, I did a system restart. This time the AVG window did not open. I then did a full shut-down, waited about 5 minutes, and started up the system again. AVG window once again did not appear. I will try again tomorrow morning to see if the overnight thing is a phenomenon.

Just started occurring since the last PC TuneUp scan. It now runs/scans every time I boot up the machine. How do I get this back to periodic notifications for a manual start-up and scan?
I have changed NO settings.

Hello Schuyler,

We believe that you are referring to AVG TuneUp's automatic maintenance scan.
Open AVG TuneUp program window.
Under Maintenance component, you can see automatic maintenance with ON option.
Click "ON" and it should change to "OFF".
This would turn off the automatic maintenance scan.
Thank you.

Schuyler, could you clarify if it is a maintenance scan after the PC is booted or a disk check before windows is loaded?
It'd be great if you could provide an image of the scan that you are referring to.

Thank you for the response but I already checked that setting and it was indeed set to "off".

Okay, problem seems to have healed itself. AVG window did not open on start-up this morning even though it had done so every day in the previous week. If the problem resurfaces, I will repost under this thread.
