Performance Issue

Will, Have a look @ this AVG article (http://avgclick.me/SlowdownAfterInstall).

I do a lot of software development work. Lots of erratic reads and writes of small files which impacts perforamnce.

I also have a script that I use for copying a load of files from one place to another. The other day after trying AVG I noticed it was running a bit slow. I disabled AVG protection and it was much faster, so I ran some tests.

From 3 runs it was taking an average of 3.72 seconds with protection enabled.

I excluded the folder and tried again and it took a very similar amount of time, 3.69 seconds.

I then tried turning off real time protection and identity protection and it took 3.53 seconds

I then disabled AVG protection 1.54 seconds.

Why with AVG protection disabled on the folders that are being copied is it still taking significatly longer than expected, even with real time protection disabled?

Thanks Alan, none of that advice seems to help, I've still got the issue.
