AVG free 64 bit, Wi  10.  MY control panel shows "Updating virus definitions checking for updates" been there for about 2 hours! - at the same time a full computer scan was occuring and completed successfully.

Is there something corrupt?  Version 2016.0.7161

I eventually had to power down and re-start in safe mode. Used system restore to go back to a usable version of Win 10 and then after 2 re-boots it appears to be working now. "protection up to date"
So  I will not use that link just yet and see how it goes.
Not sure whether it's an AVG issue or a Win 10 issue - the latter has several!!
