I wanted to add: When changing around the port numbers in avg, it makes the set up fail in Outlook. However, when I leave the ports at 5300 and 5400 in AVG, the set up in outlook simply hangs at the "logging into gmail" stage and never succeeds or fails.

I have followed all the FAQ's and guides from both GMAIL and AVG and I cannot get the settings to work. It simply doesn't log into the gmail server when testing the settings. Using Outlook 2013.
Side question, is there a way to get the personal email scanner to scan messages on my other email account that uses Microsoft Exchange Service in Outlook 2013?
