Phishing threat cannot be resolved

Hi Bert,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
From your description, we see that a file in Thunderbird inbox is being detected as a threat by AVG.
Would you be so kind to share us the screenshot of the scan results showing the entire path of the file for better clarity?
Meanwhile, please try to manually remove the file by navigating to the path displayed & let us know if it allows you to remove.

I walked the path and found the Inbox file. I did a scan of the file with AVG. It found the threat. I clicked Resolve button and the entire file was deleted including ALL my saved emails all 75 MB worth! I did a backup of my PC last night and will try to restore the file and the emails and delete the threat manually by deleting individual emails sections within the single file to try and restore my clean emails.

I ran a full scan of my PC using AVG and at the end of the scan a display read "1 unsecured threat found".Below the message was a path to my thunderbird email inbox. There is also a link to the right with the word "Resolve" . I clicked resolve several times. Each time the 'Resolve' changes to "Resolving" and then displays "Resolve" again. I can't get AVG to successfully resolve the threat. What can I do now?

Thank you for the screenshot, Bert.
Could you get into the path as shown in the result and delete the file manually?
If yes, try scanning the computer again and check whether you get the same threat detected by AVG.
Keep us posted.

I was able to restore the Inbox file from my backup. I started up the Thunderbird application and deleted emails between the last 2 runs of my weekly AVG scan (Monday nights 8/5 and 8/12). After compressing the folders using Thunderbird, I scanned the Inbox file with AVG and the threat was no longer in the file.

Okay, Bert.
We appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.
Yes, please try to delete the email one by one and let us know its status.

See description at the start of the thread
the end of the path is the Inbox which probably contains about 75 messages
