Phyical IT Security

Hello Alan.

My name is Jovana and I'm with AVG support. Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for the delay. This is not a usual response time for us, and we're doing our best to improve this.

Due to your specific concerns, I've reached out to the dedicated department and shared your questions so they can provide precise information. As soon as I get an update, I'll reach out to you again with further information.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

It has recently been reported that a prominent US IT contractor heavily connected with the NHS is to transfer its dedicated US based servers to the UK in order to protect it's UK IT operations against the threat of the Russians implementing their threat of cutting off transatlantic cables. My question is how do AVG plan to protect their UK operations against a similar threat? Where are your servers based?
Thank you.

Hello, again Alan,

Please accept my apologies for not being able to get back to you sooner.

We've reached out to our infrastructure and engineering teams and confirmed that as part of AVG’s contingency planning for server infrastructure operations, we have multiple data centers set up in the US and Europe, which includes a strong presence in the UK.

As a result, in a situation where a cable is cut, there should be no impact on UK customers.

We hope this clarifies and helps.

Feel free to write back if you need any further help!

All the best,

Jovana
