David, this has to be manually checked from your end.
You can check if your AVG programs are installed in your computer from the 'Control Panel'.
If your AVG program(s) are listed under the 'Programs & Features' column, it means that they're installed on your computer.
To check if the AVG program is activated or not, you can navigate to the "My Subscritpions" window & check for the subscritpion status.
