My pointer disappears behind the AVG window … it will come out from behind it but it will not go in front of it. I am using a laptop with a touchscreen, however AVG is the only window that this happens. (I can use the touchscreen to activate the AVG options as needed) Can you tell me how to correct this issue?

I request you to perform repair of AVG Antivirus once as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and check whether the issue persists.
Also check whether the update version shows as 17.5. This can be checked by clicking on Menu on the dashboard–>Settings–>Update.
