Pop up while doing scheduled scan

Thanks…but my real question I guess is why would  Internet explorer be using 166mb when I wasn't even using IE at the time…Could an automatic update have been occuring or what? I looked at date modified in "properties" and it said 2-3-15 on both versions…This happened today 2-11-15…Using Windows 7 operating system…I don't really want to disable "advisor"

While AVG free edition was doing a complete scheduled scan a pop up box appeared saying Internet Explorer was using excessive memory I think  (166 mB) and I think it suggested restarting it but not sure…I wasn't even using Internet explorer !!!   I use Firefox almost exclusively. I have both Internet Explorer 32 bit and 64 installed…but almost never use them…Turbotax "help" had me use them yesterday to try to get tax software to install, but I shut them both down after the attempt…I went to task manager and the only thing listed in processes is explorer.exe using 16,800K currently…I didn't look when the pop up occurred unfortunately…The IE icon wasn't present in the task bar like it is when IE is being used…Do you know what would cause this warning box to appear? Could an automatic update have been occuring or what? I looked at date modified in "properties" and it said 2-3-15 on both versions…This happened today 2-11-15…Using Windows 7
