Thank you for confirming what I've said in several posts here. SETTING THE LENGTH OF TIME FOR POP UPS IS BOGUS - YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE TIMING AT ALL. It's a bogus setting to explain away the adware portion of your program.
I get it - you can't offer a FREE product without some revenue generating options. It's the fact that you lie about it, and mislead your customers into believing that they can change the length of time they must view these annoying pop ups.
"The AVG Free Antivirus application has been programmed that way…" that says it all.
"We have an option to completely disable promotional pop ups only in our paid subscription …" I have seen the paid subscribers post on here how they still receive pop ups even though they are disabled. Maybe you're not telling the truth about that either?

No matter what I set those awful spam pop ups to, they continue to pop up and NOT go away. Why bother putting a setting to adjust the number of seconds a pop up will last when it never changes - they all still stay on the screen for at least 30 seconds. I'm sure you'll respond with the same lame old "go here and change settings blah blah blah" and not even read how annoying this is. Nothing like a product that is used to protect you from adware and malware to actually BE adware.

Open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu->Settings->General->Privacy", uncheck the option "Show campaign pop-up for other AVG products".

See what I mean? They totally ignore the problem. It's now clear it's the plan. Act like they care, act like they can help instead of just saying "If you want free protection from adware, use our adware." .ROFL too funny. I highly recommend Avast instead.
