We are running AVG Anti-Virus Business Edition.
We updated our license right before we went on Christmas break and pushed out the changes to most clients.
There were a few laptops that were off campus at the time and during the break they started complaining that the license was expired. When they came back on campus and plugged in to the network the machines didn't check in with the AVG admin server and I couldn't push from the AVG admin console. For example laptop001 showed an IP address of 10.100.1.1 in the console but had gotten a new dhcp address and was now at 10.100.1.5.
The only way I could find to remedy this was to delete the machine from the Admin console and reinstall. We have the clients locked down pretty hard so I couldn't get in to change the license on the laptop itself and I couldn't unlock the license setting on the server and push it out as the laptop appeared offline (nothing at the stale address that AVG had for that machine).
I would think that the admin console should check DNS when trying to talk to a machine or at least have the option to refresh DNS to avoid this problem.David,
I still haven't seen that script come through. Did you send it to itpurchasing@.?

Hi Andy,
I've sent the message to the mentioned email address (and edited this out in the post).
Please let me know if you don't receive this.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting AVG.
When the licence expires the stations can lose contact with the admin server. If this happens it is possible for us to provide a scipt which can be run on the devices to force the licence change.
If you would like us to send you this plaese let us know.
Best Regards,
David Phillips.
