Possible way to add nas drive to vpn

I found this while I was looking at possible ways to keep my vpn active so I can continue surfing while I move files to the NAS drive

Would this work or is would it be a possible for hackers to access my computer with this?

Initialy, we'd like to inform you that following the instructions provided in the above article will exclude a drive from the AVG Secure VPN tunnel.
Secondly, as long as you have the AVG Internet Security installed on your computer, you needn't worry about protection level of your computer being compromised.

I ment could I use this so that I do not have to keep turning the secure vpn from connected to disconnected to move the files
