Thank you for your response. I am running AVG Internet Security Unlimited on several computers. This process worked on one of my computers - Computer A. However on a second computer - Computer B I could not get to the same settings features from the dashboard. Additionally while the same AVG programs show up in task manager for the two computers the memory utilized by those files is different. On Computer A the programs and memory utilization are:
avgui.exe 32 20,808 avguix.exe 32 6,008 avguix.exe 32 64,338
On Computer B the programs and memory utilization are:
avgui.exe 32 11,776 avguix.exe 32 11,516 avguix.exe 32 29,924
I find the differential in memory utilization very confusing. and wonder if somehow - given the dashboard dissimilarity I am running 2 different versions of AVG though I downloaded all from my AVG account?
Your assistance in figuring this out would be most appreciated.
The attached file shows the differences in the appearance of the dashboard and menus that appear when clicking on the Menu-settings icons. Computer A is on the top and Computer B is on the bottom.
I am running AVG Internet Security unlimited on each of my 5 computers. I am having a problem with file sharing on some of them. Is there a firewall setting that may be causing a problem. My computer was set up as a home network prior to installing AVG. If there is a firewall setting that I should look at, please tell me how to get at it as I can see nothing that looks promising on the dashboard.
Thanks for your help.
Makes a big difference when one starts off with the correct dashboard. I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out and you made it simple. Thanks!

You're welcome Judith and thank you for the screenshots.
From the screenshot I see that you're trying to find Firewall settings on AVG dashboard, so please go to your computer B, open AVG > click Internet Security button > AVG Internet Security window will get opened > menu > settings > components > firewall > customize > network profile > change all the network public to private), please go to Firewall customize settings again > scroll down > click on system rules > enable all the system rules if it's not configured, please click OK and check if you can share the files with enabled AVG Internet Security.
Best regards,
Alok.
Hello Judith,
Yes, please change AVG Firewall network profile to private (open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > components > firewall > customize > network profile > change all the network public to private), please go to Firewall customize settings again > scroll down > click on system rules > enable all the system rules if it's not configured, please click OK and check if you can share the files with enabled AVG Internet Security.
Best regards,
Alok.
