Printer Connection Problem

I was suddently unable to print whilst VPN was swtiched on and contacted support to find out if there was a solution. I received a reply suggesting that I open VPN, go into settings and tick a box which should allow me to print whilst connected to local devices including my printer. I have tried this and whilst there is now  clearly a tick in the box it will still not let me print whilst VPN is active. Can you please assist.
