my printer is no longer working since updating my avg.  I have run trouble shooting through HP and my computer and no problems with that.

If your printer has stopped working after updating AVG (AntiVirusGuard), there could be a few reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check AVG Settings:
   - Open AVG and navigate to the settings.
   - Look for any firewall or security settings that might be blocking communication with the printer.
   - Temporarily disable AVG to see if the printer starts working. If it does, you may need to adjust AVG settings to allow printer communication.

2. Update AVG:
   - Ensure that AVG is up-to-date. Sometimes, compatibility issues between the antivirus software and other programs, including printer drivers, are resolved in newer updates.

3. Printer Driver Update:
   - Update your printer drivers to the latest version. Outdated drivers may not be compatible with the latest AVG updates.

4. Check Printer Connection:
   - Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer. Check cables, USB connections, or network connections to make sure everything is in order.

5. Restart Devices:
   - Restart your computer, printer, and any networking equipment (such as routers or switches). Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.

6. Exclusions in AVG:
   - Add your printer software and drivers to the exclusion list in AVG. This prevents AVG from scanning or blocking files related to the printer.

7. Contact AVG Support:
   - If the issue persists, reach out to AVG customer support. They may provide specific guidance or updates to address compatibility issues with printers.

8. Rollback AVG Update:
   - If the problem started after a recent AVG update, consider rolling back to a previous version. Check AVG's support documentation or forums for instructions on how to revert to an earlier update.

Alternative Antivirus Solution:**
   - As a last resort, consider using an alternative antivirus program temporarily to see if the printer starts working. This will help determine if the issue is indeed related to AVG.

Remember to perform these steps carefully, and if you are unsure about any action, seek assistance from AVG support or your printer manufacturer's support.
