Printer not working while AVG is operative

Hello Albert,

I understand your concern.

Please open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile->"Change the profile to "Private" if selected in "Public".

Click on "Policies->System Rule->"Enable all the settings that are disabled".

Once this is done, check if you are able to connect to the printer.

I bought a printer with WIFI and it doesn't work properly while AVG is running in my computer. After hours looking for a solution, I just found the printer works only when Passive Mode is activated. But my computer is vulnerable now.

How can I make the printer work without "deactivating" AVG? Any solution?

I appreciate your efforts. Let's try another solution to fix this issue.

1)Open AVG Internet Security dashboard, click on "Menu–>Settings–>Components–>Firewall–>Customize"
2) To the right of "Policies" scroll down to click on "System Rules"
3) Enable the option for "Windows file sharing and printing", "allow remote desktop connection" and the last entry "Enable stealth mode".

If the issue persists, disable each component one at a time in AVG and check which one is blocking the printer access.

Thanks for your answer. I proceeded as you mentioned but there's still no communication between the printer and the computer.

I appreciate your efforts and patience so far. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instructions to get in touch with the remote support. They will analyze the issue with AVG and fix it, free of cost.

Ok, i´ve followed your advices and I´ve seen at the end the Web Shield is what blocks the printer. Which configuration should I use in order to keep the shield activated and keep the printer working?
