Printers blocked

Hi Roger,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please follow the steps in this article to disable AVG components individually to identify the component that causes the issue & let us know.

Internet Security ver. 20.10.3157 build 20.10.5824.618. Updates are "up to date".
I have loaded AVG on to a new hard drive.
Two printers on my ethernet network will not function unless I close AVG.
My ethernet network is ticked as "private", but the AVG list of network profiles list three entries as "Public" as follows: Ivacy (vpn) - Public; LAN - Public; and Network - Public.
(a 4th - the modem network is marked as "Private"
I have used the dropdown for each of these to change them to Private but they just revert back to Public when I close the window.  All "system rules" are "enabled".
Please assist.

Hi Dinesh.
I have tested each component. As expected the only one to prevent access to printers is the "Enhanced Firewall" component.  I have investigated further as follows:-
In Hacker Attacks>Enhanced Firewall Options>Network Profiles - all four profiles are set to "Private".
However, in Menu>Settings>Full Protection> in the "List of Network Profiles" the drop-down box registers three (previously mentioned) profiles have now updated to "Private" - but the icons for each have a red cross through them. I can send a snip of this if you wish.
Please advise.

Hello Rog,

Are you using Wireless printer? Do you have any VPN program installed on the PC? Please provide the make and model of your printer.

Thanks V.
But your questions don't seem to take into consideration the information I have already provided?
I am using ethernet cable network.
I am using two laser printers. One is a Brother MFC 9640 plus a Laserjet 2055dn.
further…
I have been using AVG with these two printers for many years on many computers with no problems.
I have Ivacy VPN installed - but I'm not using it.
Ivacy is installed on my other computers along with AVG with no problems.
Please advise.
