Are you using AVG Secure Browser on a Mac device?
Privacy Cleaner clears your browsing history as well as other data stored in your browsers, such as cached images and cookies. This is expected behavior.
When I utilize the Privacy cleaner through the AVG Browser - It wipes out all my saved short cuts from the AVG Browser home page
