We are sorry to hear that AVG using more system memory. Please check in the task manager which process of AVG is using more system resource. Please press Ctrl+Alt+Del, and then click the Task Manager. From Task Manager select "Processes" tab and check which process of AVG is using more system resource. You can also send us the screenshot(http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the task manager, so that we can check this for you.

Thank you for your kind post. Inge, you can try the step suggested by Gerardo and see if you have two AVG installations in your computer. You can check this from your computer control panel. Please check if you see two AVG Protection icon from the control panel.

I had the same problem, after an update my computer used 100% of my processor. After about en hour I found that I had two AVG installations. One in english (as my original) and one in spanish (as the country I´m in)
I un-installed one and everything went back to normal… sadly in spanish.
Right click on your AVG icon in your tray and see if you are running more than one version of AVG. If you are, un-install the top one
