Hi, I am trying to st up my father's new laptop and install the free AVG Zen program. After a lengthy installation process including a restart after which it starts the while process again, I am left with a message to say that that has it failed and given an error code 0xc0070643. I first tried by adding another machine from my own Zen, then after using the AVG remove tool tried again with a totally fresh install. How can I install AVG?

Hi, After the first failed attempt I looked for pre-installed antivirus software, even though there was none visibly showing, and found that the dreaded McAfee was present. I removed this, and tried the AVG Zen install again but it still failed. After reading other forum comments on here, I then used the AVG remover tool, and tried again, both with and without the Microsoft firewall. I did not get the "Description: event exec finished" error message that you describe.
