Problem Reinstalling

Hello, Shane.
We'd be glad to look into this. Could you let us know if it is a free or paid version of AVG that you are trying to re install? Do you mean the installation setup is completing 100% but the program is not installing? Did you check in the list of installed programs on control panel if AVG is listed?

just to keep you up to date. I have found out how to change the ownership of the Trusted Installer files.
There was at last look 164 files referencing AVG so it is going to take me a while to change the ownership of each file and folder, 1 at a time.

I removed AVG last month when there was a dodgy update. I was away and removed AVG with the intent of reinstalling when I got home. I was unable to reinstall. I have gone through the uninstall process, ran AVG Clear and AVG Remover, done numerous restarts and attempts to reinstall. It goes somewhat through the motions of install and when it finishes running, it isn't installed. I have repeated this process a couple of times without success.
It is free version. I have been using it for years.
It has the bar going across like it is installing. When the bar gets to the right hand side the screen just goes. It doesn't want to check for updates or anything.
In the Programs tab, it shows AVG but with the generic windows image, not the AVG image. When I click on it, it opens a screen offering to Repair or Change. Change isn't what I'm after so I press Repair. It runs through as though it is changing files but at the end nothing is different.
I have found leftover AVG files and deleted them. there are some files and manifest files in Windows/winsxs that I can't delete
