Hi, I am having the same problem as others describe. I recently tried using the trial of TuneUp to clean up some stuff and speed up my PC laptop. It suggested putting a few programs to sleep until they are used. First it just made Adobe Acrobat really slow to wake up and open PDF files, but now it will not open at all. I cannot open the program and I cannot open PDF files directly from folders at all.
I tried to go into TuneUp to stop it from putting Acrobat to sleep, but now TuneUp won't open either. I've tried uninstalling TuneUp but now I still can't open PDF files as it just gives me an error that the file location doesn't exist. I can't open Acrobat from anywhere, including Creative Cloud.
How do I resolve this?
Damien, we regret the inconvenience caused.
Please contact our technical support team (https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=en) to resolve this issue.
I am having this same problem with several programs including Adobe Acrobat readerDC etc. it is obviously a result of using AVG PC Tune Up as is noted in these posts. Can you please also send me an email with the fix?
Thank you
Richard Lane

AVG Tune UP has disabled starting all Office applications, Adobe Acrobat and ePlan on my PC, This is unacceptable and caused me a lot of problems and losses in my work! I managed to fix this with System Restore, and it worked for a while and it have again locked these applications (Error message is "Windows cannot find 'C:/Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRd32.exe.' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.' ).
After second System Restore I had to disable AVG Tune UP.
Big disappointment!
Have been having same issue. VERY frustrating. It is understandable that problems happen but it would have saved me a whole 2 DAYS of trying to reinstall programs if we had just had an email to let us know that there is a problem and that they are trying to fix it. I have fixed my issue thankfully. But I would have been happy to wait and let AVG sort it out IF I had known it was an issue they were dealing with.
Communication is the key!!
Hi Krsto, Karlo & Tam,
This isn't the experience we want you to have. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
There was an issue with the recent release of AVG TuneUp (version 20.1), which has been fixed by our developers currently.
If we've got a chace of receiving your individual posts, we'd have kept track of it & followed up, Tam.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
