I'm having the same problem and I'm disappointed that a free trial version of AVG leaves this sort of issue on a laptop. It's a hassle and I've followed your instructions, but the first download just sat loading for a long time and didn't do anything… that's the cleaner one. Please help.

Hi there,
I'm running Windows Vista on my laptop. I dowloaded and installed AVG Antivirus Free (file name: Antivirus_Free_1875). When installed I noticed that AVG Protection was also installed.
I had to uninstall AVG. When doing so, I stated with AVG Antivirus and got a message telling that it was impossible to uninstall this component firts. The message told me to uninstall AVG Protection first. Wich I tried.
Since then, I keep having error messages right after the Windows opening. Also, my laptop is extremely slow and takes a long time (more than 90 sec of black screen) to be ready for work.
One of those message says: ''Following processes failed: -avguix.exe''.
Another one says (in French):
''avguix.exe - Erreur d'application
L'exception Point d'arrêt
Un point d'arrêt a été atteint (0x8000003) s'est produite dans l'application à l'emplacement 0x5f17ccd7''. Please note that the codes aren't the same each time I start the laptop.
I checked on the web and found that AVG support suggest downloading AVG Remover, wich I did. Nothing changed. I checked some more and read that AVG ResetAccess. Been there, done that. Nothing changed.
I did a search of my computer and found no file named avguix.exe
I just don't know what to do next and I'm afraid that problems will keep adding on…
I downloaded, scanned my computer and uninstalled AVG four or five times in the past and had no problems… What's going on this time?
Please help getting rid of those problems and error messages.
Thanks!
