Hi I have been running and updating a version of AVG Free for some time. I don't recall which year it was installed. But last week when it said it required updating and I tried to update it nothing happened. It would not update. After several attempts, rebooting and trying again I eventually went and downloaded a new version of AVG Free. now clearly this was a mistake. I should have removed, or tried to the old one first. upon installation the new version instructed me to remove the old one. Fair enough. but when I went to remove programs in the control panel it said it was already removed. Wrong. it isn't. But now it doesn't show in the control panel 'remove programs' list.
So how can I remove it? Currently I have two different version of AVG FREE running on my computer and all I can do is keep disabling one of them for a few hours.
Is there a way to make it visible again in the 'Remove programs' list? or is there some other way of removing it?
any help would be appreciated.
