If the issue persists, we suggest you to repair AVG Internet Security and check the same.
You can repair your AVG Internet Security by following steps,
1. Press your window key and type "appwiz.cpl" and hit "Enter"
2. Here you can see the list of installed applications in your PC.
3. Uninstall the conflicting antivirus (If found).
4. Uninstall the AVG Internet Security and click "Uninstall".
5. Now select repair and continue.
6. Restart your PC.

My desktop has been rendered virtually unusable because every time it runs a scan which seems to be more often than every 7 days, nothing else works. I can access everything on my phone and laptop. so it's not an internet access issue. I simply cannot access anything on my desktop
