Problems with AVG, and their Tech support people!

Do you even read these questions are do you just skim over them? You show that you are supposed to be an AVG tech, reading these and helping people with AVG problems. It quit obvious that you didn't read my initial post. I stated that I'd purchased "AVG Ultimate" about a year ago, and it was installed, and ACTIVATED! How else would I already have an AVG account! Besides, my "Ultimate" version isn't the problem, as that's still working just fine. However, it will expire in less than a month. So knowing this, I purchased a copy of your "AVG Protection" software and is a two year licensed version. The problem is that I already have an active AVG account that was set up a year ago for my copy of "AVG  Ultimate" and it's already activated, The problem is that I've been unable to activate my newly purchase version of AVG PROTECTION software. Your system will not allow me to. Even your own techs didn't know how to do it. I was actually told to wait until my version of Ultimate expires, and then install my new version of AVG Protection. I don't feel I should have to wait to install my new software! AVG needs to wake up and smell the coffee, as they are driving it's own customers away.

By the way, "Thanks"! You made my point about AVG service going down hill better than I ever could. Next time you may want to actually read the post!

About a year ago I purchase a copy of AVG "Ultimate" from Frys Electronics here California. I installed it, and created my AVG account and activated the product without any problems. Well, I've recently been getting daily reminders that my "AVG Ultimate" version (1 year/unlimited) will expire in roughly 25 days. So knowing this, I went to Fry's Electronics again yesterday and purchase an AVG product to replace it with. The product I purchased is "AVG Protection" (2 year/unlimited devices). I proceeded to attempt installing a clean, new installation on my laptop. The hard drive had failed and was replaced with a new SSD. I tried to install it, but during the regisration portion of the install it asks you to either create an account, or if you already hace one, to log into your account. Since I already had an account, I longed in expecting to continue and complete the activation of my new product. WRONG!!! The new version wouldn't activate as my old version of "Ultimate" was still active, and keep telling me to renew that. I contacted AVG Tech Support for assistance and after nearly two hours on the phone, ever they couldn't get it activated and I was told to "just wait until the old version expires and quits, then login, install, and activate the new one". WTF! Their tech support sucks, the products won't activate if you already have an account with a different AVG product, so apparently, I just wasted my money purchasing a new AVG product that not even their tech support people can activate. AVG's products and support seem to have dramatically gone down hill from what it was. If I could return this "OPEN" software, I would. I've been a loyal AVG customer up until now, but this breaks it. I will look for a different Anti-Virus producer such as AVAST, McCafee, etc. As of this morning I'm mad, and frustrated with AVG products and their with "Non" their Tech Support.
