Hello Niek,
Thank you for your patience. As per request from our senior team we would request you to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Step 1: Try to remove Web companion.
Step 2: Goto C:\Windows\System32 and search for file names starting with Lava.
Step 3: Rename the files with Back_lava and save it.
Step 4: Please open your command prompt. Type “netsh winsock reset” and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard. Wait for the Command Prompt to run through the reset.
Step 4: Restart your PC.
Step 5: Download and install AVG Protection free:

hi all,

I use AVG Antivirus already for many years on several pc's. however since yesterday I have problems. 
AVG tried to upgrade and got stuck. I de-installed all, even using AVG remover and cleaned also traces manually and used also CC cleaner. Registry also cleaned. 

After re-boot tried to install AVG again, however keep having problems. 
Installation of version 1606 got stuck at 73% of installation completed. within AVG Zen the counter shows 87% completed. 

Anyone same problems / solutions?

Dear Avinash,

thanks for instructions. I downloaded AVG_clear, it started but never showed progress. then I used other tool, AVG_Remover and that worked fine. I mentions that AVG Protection and AVG ZEN were installed. Both I de-installed fine, reboot and even used CC Clearer to clear history and manually deleted last traces from C-Drive. Reboot again. 

When I use then AVG_Antivirus_Free_x64_693.exe; again same problem; it hangs at 73% of installation. Tried to do same in Windows safe mode. Again, it hangs at 73%. 

I get a bit annoyed now. Why never had problems in past, but now I have. Saw some other threads on this community with people experiencing the same…

I can send you logfile of installation if you want.
