Problems with my virus scanning

I did this and i had one of your supporters helping me since the program then decided to turn off everything without i was able to turn it back on again. He helped me and everything was fine untill it asked me to run a scan. I did so and after it was pass 1% i thought everything was ok. But then suddenly now it has become stuck on 50% i think it is the same file it is stuck on. I am afraid to run the repair as it last time made AVG not work at all.

This AVG scan stuck at 1% is a known issue and to fix this we have to perform repair of AVG program once.
To perform repair of AVG please follow the steps as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and restart your computer.
Start the scan of AVG and check the status of it.

Hello recently i tried to scan my computer for virusses, as i usually do. It reached 1% before it stopped at a file and just stopped. Now it is stuck on this file. I have tried to Repair the AVG software with no result. Now, whenever i open AVG it is still stuck on the same file. It has now been over a week and the result is still the same. If i try to press the STOP button to cancel the scanning nothing happens… 
What should i do about it? Obviously it is not gonna finish anytime soon…
