After a brief explanation of issues, my question is following at the bottom:

I have been an AVG user for many years.  Probably dating back to 2000.  I have been using both the free versions, as well as the paid Business Solutions for my company.  Yet at this point, I truly think  I have lost all faith in AVG as a legitimate antivirus suite for many reasons.

Firstly, the AVG toolbar and search has installed on every PC without consent.  No boxes were ever checked for this feature during installation.  Special care was taken, specifically, so that the AVG toolbar and search was never installed.  This is equal to malware and was surprisingly difficult to remove.  That is highly unacceptable from a professional software company.  Strike 1.

Secondly, on the free versions of AVG protection, popup advertisements have become outrageously a nuisance.  All notifications have been disabled, yet the popup ads appear every 5 to 10 minutes.  Interrupting productivity while working as well as entertainment purpuses such as watching movies or gaming.  A few popups, once a week, is acceptable for free software.  What is currently happening, is not acceptable business practices.  Strike 2.

Thirdly, AVG Business Solutions was hogging so many resources, it had become unacceptable to use in a professional environment.  Spam/virus emails were not being detected from spoofing sources, as well.  Advertisements were also pushing me to add additional unwanted features.  Strike 3.

Fourthly, even AVG's forums have been hijacked by spammers that are posting nonsense advertisements and such.  No antivirus company can be taken seriously when their own forums are being spammed so much, that it is impossible to locate legitimate threads.  Youre out.

Avg has now been unistalled on every computer related to personal and business use.  It is sad that this company has strayed so far from it's original protection intent.  Upon uninstallation, AVG snuck the toolbar and search malware on every PC that had ever used the software - which caused much additional headache to uninstall and remove all related files, completely.

AVG has become malware and is more taxing than most other malware/viruses that it is supposed to be protecting people from.  Congratulations, AVG.  You are officially as bad/worse than McAffe.  That takes a special kind of moronic injudiciousness to achieve.

QUESTION: When AVG is using the above described business practices and feature failures; why on earth should myself, or anyone else on this planet, possibly trust this company (in both free or paid versions) over other suites that don't suffer from these deficiencies?
