I Had no problem with the original release of Windows 10 and AVG 2015 free edition;. However, after
upgrading to the November 2015 Windows 10 upgrade to Windows 10, AVG was uninstalled (apparently normal procedure for Windows 10 installations). Downloaded & installed the latest free version of AVG 2016 I had the same error message as you did. The long & the short of this is as follows:
1. Downloading and installing Visual Calc++ does not correct the error and in my mind is totally unnessesary, as it is already included in the AVG installation file.
2. The AVG removal tool doesn't correct the error.
In my opinion this error is strictly due to the free edition of AVG not being compatible with the Windows 10 November upgrade, as was told to me by AVG support staff. This is in contradiction to their statement on their website that says:
"AVG products work with Windows 10. Upgrading to Windows 10? We've got you covered."
Get this, as a solution AVG support tried to sell me AVG Ultimate ($89.99) for a year. They said Ultimate was compatible with Wiindows 10. This appears to be, in my opinion, a bait and switch tactic to get users to purchase their product by making their free edition useless for Windows 10 users. If ultimate is compatible, why not the free edition. I can't even say that their Ultimate edition might not have the same problem. Try finding another free antivirus product to use until such time, if ever, they fix the problem. It appears that there are way too many other people running accross the same problem.
