Programs stopped opening

Hello Terence,
We’d love to help. Yes, you're correct. If you put a program/application in sleep using AVG PC TuneUp, then the program/application will be disabled.
Please open AVG PC TuneUp > Speed Up> disable background program > scroll down > sleeping applications > select the application and click awake.

After I installed Ultimate and did the various scans I found that my Word and other programs would not open… is this the function of the "Sleep" program not waking them up?

By the way  "woken" is not a word.
