Hello Carl,

I received pop-up alerts that a file JS:ScriptIP-inf[Trj] had been quarantined. When I opened AVG Virus Protection, selected the quarantined files, and clicked on delete, I got a drop down menu which the message "AVG Antivirus wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." I just want to make sure this is legit before I enter my password. Is entering my password necessary to delete the files?
OK, I just want assurance that if I uninstall virus protection even for a short period while reinstalling this will not release the quarantined and possibly infected files into my computer. Is that correct? Thanks for your help.
Yes, thank you and I apologize if I'm being dense. I believe Quarantine in AVG Antivirus is a safe place for storing potentially harmful files. If the quarantined files are residing on an AVG server and not my computer, I would feel safe uninstalling and reinstalling AVG Antivirus as has been requested. If the AVG quarantined files are residing on my computer though, I want to be sure uninstalling AVG antivirus as requested won't release the quarantined files before I complete reinstallation. So you're saying it's safe for me to uninstall AVG antivirus and doing so will not release the quarantined and possibly infected files onto my computer, is that correct? I'm sorry I'm being so cautious on this point but I'm sure you can understand why. Thanks for your assistance.
Thank you for providing the screenshot.

Thanks. Is this the image you wanted. I only get the pop-up alerting of the quarantined file once. This is the image I get when I try to delete them.

Thanks--is it safe to uninstall AVG virus protection while these quarantined files are pending and undeleted? Also I received a new pop-up notice of a quarantined file named cache.db-wal -here is a screen shot of that notice:
