Hello Michael,
Thank you for your post here.
Please be informed that the issue facing by "Richard" isn't due to another antivirus program installed on his PC.
If Malwarebytes installed on your PC along with AVG Antivirus then due to latest update it will get into "Passive Mode" with a fix now button.
The update was released to inform customers about the necessity of having a single antivirus program on their computer.
It is not recommended to have two security program running on same PC which might cause various issues for PC at any time.
We do not want our customers to lose any valuable data because of these conflicts with antivirus program.
The conflicting between antivirus program is the same from the beginning but it is our duty to inform customers about the seriousness of the issues that would occur, hence we decided to highlight customers through this update.
Michael, you can also follow the steps as mentioned in this article: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/212060-avg-wants-you-to-uninstall/ to fix the issue when AVG gets into passive mode if Malwarebytes is installed.
If the issue persists do let us know.
this error keep on poping now now since the last upgrade. reportedly, it is due to having Malwarebyte installed. but I don't want to uninstall Malwarebytes cuz lots of time, AVG missed things that Malwarebyte blocks for me.
type 'services' on cortana, find Malwarebytes on the list, double click to open properties. change Automatic to DELAYED Automatic.
open Malwarebytes and change protection delay to about 105 sec.
since I made these changes, i seldom get the RED error above. still get them , but less often.
